american mall poster

the american mall premeired on monday august 11th and honestley i think people were drawn to it because they wanted to see that girl from degrassi.  Theres not alot to say about this movie.

  1. The main man is not even hot.  Hes like kind of hot but in a weird way and it dosent catch my attention that much.
  2. The songs were kind of stupid.
  3. it has the potential to be something very good.  But they just didnt acheive it very well.
  4. Its exactly like high school musical but in a mall pretty much! i mean i know it says from the producers of high school musical.  But come on, at least get a little creative.

please leave your comments on this because i would love to see your opinion on the movie!

Ali Lohan Might Get Some Work

Ali Lohan may be hooking up with a troll.

The E! reality star is director John Carl Buechler’s top choice for a lead role in the big-budget remake of his 1986 camp classic, Troll.

Lindsay’s little sister auditioned last week for the role of the young Eunice St. Clair, who helps Harry Potter Jr. (no relation whatsoever to J.K. Rowling’s gazillion-dollar creation of the same name) fight the evil Torok the Troll.

“She was great,” Buechler tells me. “The camera loves her. She’s a really good actress…I am personally going to fight for her.”

Buechler says the $25 million remake is being financed independently: “It’s a retelling of the original story with some twists.”

The original featured Sonny Bono, June Lockhart and marked the feature-film debut of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Wild Child tells the story of Poppy (Emma Roberts), a rebellious teenager who after numerous warnings from her dad is sent to a strict all-girls boarding school in England in an attempt to straighten out her unruly behavior. Under the eye of school’s headteacher (Natasha Richardson) and surrounded by a new circle of friends (including fit Freddie, played by Alex Pettyfer), Poppy soon realizes her bad attitude will only get her so far but just because she has to grow into a sassy young lady doesn’t mean this Wild Child won’t spend every waking hour shaking up her very proper school.

The film is set to hit theaters on August 22, 2008.

The Ladies Do Germany

Shiri Dee
Shiri Dee

The ladies from Sex & The City: The Movie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis attend the German premiere of the movie.

I’m so glad to see these girls together again…but, what the hell is Kristen wearing? It looks like a shitty vomit-coloured table cloth from the ’50’s! I expected better from you stylist, Kristen!

You can catch Sex & The City on May 30th.

Audrina Patridge Is Ready On Set

Even though Poor little Audrina Patridge might be getting the boot from L.C. on “The Hills”, the new movie role she’s landed in “Into the Blue Too: The Reef” is probably enough to help her completely forget just how traumatized she was after her friendship dissolved.

Also, I mean, as horrible actress as she is, you can’t expect her to completely disappear from stardom. Those breast implants aren’t going to pay for themselves! A girl needs to live in this country.

The Next Miley Cyrus?

Raine
Raine

s

..Selena Gomez?

She’s the star of the Disney Channel hit “Wizards of Waverly Place”, and she’s supposedly the girl Disney executives have their eye on to make into the next Miley Cyrus. “Wizards of Waverly Place” has apparently increased Disney’s ratings, while the first episode of season three of “Hannah Montana” dropped them by an estimated 12%. Selena’s also got several film roles lined up, and she’s in the process of signing a record deal with Hollywood Records (owned by Disney), which also puts out Miley’s albums.

But, how soon until she’s sporting mini-skirts and halter tops in her music videos?

I myself much prefer Selena to Miley, and would be genuinely shocked if she did turn out like Miley, in one sense. Hopefully she will be as successful, minus the scandalous pictures.

I mean, honestly, can we at least let them be old enough to drive before we go making sex-symbol mega-celebs out of them? Pleaseee!

What do you all think, Miley or Selena? Tell us your favourite and why. But please, don’t be a moron in your explanation.

Rick Yune, whose big-screen credits includes roles in “Die Another Day” and “The Fast and the Furious,” has been cast as the antagonist in the action film “Ninja Assassin.”

Also boarding the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures production are Naomie Harris, in the female lead role, and Ben Miles.

The Wachowski brothers are producing the martial arts extravaganza, with James McTeigue (”V for Vendetta”) directing.

The feature stars Korean actor-singer Rain, who also appears in the Wachowskis’ “Speed Racer,” as a man brought up in an orphanage that functions as a ninja farm. The man turns his back on his tradition to make his way in the modern world, which brings him into conflict with a ninja (Yune) from the clan.

“Not to give too much away, (but) my character stays within what he was brought up with, and they go up against each other,” said Yune, who next appears on the big screen in “The Fifth Commandment,” which he also wrote. “I’m not a heavy. The characters are ninjas, they are assassins, and there’s this mix of morality the Wachowskis are exploring.”

“Iron Man” Gets Heavy Start At Box Office

“Iron Man,” the latest Marvel comics title brought to the big screen, grossed an estimated $32.5 million from its first full day in North American theaters, independent box office analysts reported on Saturday.

That tally, generated from Friday showings in some 4,100 U.S. and Canadian cinemas, put “Iron Man” on track to meet or exceed the $85 million-plus opening weekends posted by sequels to two other Marvel franchises — “Spider-Man” and “X-Men.”

“Iron Man” stars Robert Downey Jr. as a billionaire industrialist and playboy named Tony Stark who wrestles with a midlife crisis as he invents a high-tech suit of armor that transforms him into a superhero.

The movie, which cost about $150 million to make and another $75 million to market, co-stars Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and has drawn mostly favorable reviews.

Distributed through Viacom Inc’s Paramount Pictures, the film is the first self-financed production from Marvel Studios and is being closely watched as the first major release of the summer movie season.

The 18-weekend stretch from May through August can account for as much as 40 percent of Hollywood’s total domestic box office receipts for a year.

Neither Paramount nor Marvel issued first-day figures for “Iron Man.”

But two box office tracking services, Media By Numbers and Box Office Mojo, both reported the film’s estimated Friday take at $32.5 million, not including receipts from Thursday night “preview” screenings in more than 2,000 theaters.

Miley! Abigail! Zac! Top Teens Take The Bank In Hollywood

Nicole

z

They haven’t even graduated from high school yet, but already a ton of teens are making big bucks in Hollywood. Miley Cyrus is one of the top earning stars still in school. According to People, at just 15, she’s earned $17.5 million from her tour alone. And with her big screen release, “Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert Movie,” netting around $65 million, Miley will surely be able to afford plenty of her shopping weakness - Electra bikes, People reports.

At just 14, Angus T. Jones is already a TV veteran, having spent almost half a dozen years on “Two and a Half Men.” As a result, he reportedly takes home a hefty paycheck - $1.2 million a year, People claims.

And he’s not the only one bringing in the big bucks. Tyler James Williams, 15, from “Everybody Hates Chris,” reportedly also makes the same amount.

In the movie world, Abigail Breslin, 12, and Dakota Fanning, 14, earn salaries in the millions for each film they appear in.

Breslin reportedly cashes checks for $2 million a picture, while Dakota can take up to $4 million a project. But, People reports that neither girl has lavish spending practices. Abigail earns just $11 in allowance each week, while Dakota gets no allowance at all.

As for the older stars - as in just old enough to have graduated high school - Daniel Radcliffe, 18, is a top earner.

People reports that he’s expected to earn $50 million for the final “Harry Potter” films. His co-stars, Emma Watson, 18, will bank $4 million per film, the same figure 19-year-old Rupert Grint is expected to fetch.

R&B star Chris Brown, 18, dances away with about $18.2 million a year.

Over in TV land, Hayden Panettiere, also 18, nets around $30,000 per episode of “Heroes,” but her product endorsements kick her end of year total up to around $5 million.

And Zac Efron, at just 19, will reportedly take in $3 million for “High School Musical 3.”

“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” helmer Nick Stoller is reteaming with Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures for the comedy “Get Him to the Greek,” with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand attached to star.

Stoller has been tapped to write and direct the laffer, which centers on a fresh-out-of-college insurance adjuster (Hill) who is hired to accompany an out-of-control rock star (Brand) from London to a gig at L.A.’s Greek Theater.

Hill and Brand played supporting roles in U’s “Sarah Marshall”; Stoller made his feature directing debut on the pic. “During the table read on ‘Sarah Marshall,’ Jonah and Russell had such a great chemistry,” said Stoller, who described “Greek” as a very dirty take on “Almost Famous.” “Even though they are such different actors with different styles, I thought there could be a great buddy comedy there.”

Stoller is co-writing and will direct the comedy “Five-Year Engagement” for Universal, with Jason Segal co-writing and attached to star. He and Segal are also collaborating on “The Muppet Movie” for Disney. Stoller’s writing credits include the forthcoming Jim Carrey starrer “Yes Man.”

Hill’s upcoming credits include the comedy “This Side of the Truth” alongside Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner. He will also lend his voice to DreamWorks’ “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Brand will next be seen in the Adam Sandler starrer “Bedtime Stories” for Disney.

Lionsgate and the Weinstein Co.’s Jet Li-Jackie Chan starrer “The Forbidden Kingdom” opened No. 1 at the Friday box office, ahead of Universal’s risque romantic comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”Helped by its PG-13 rating, “Forbidden Kingdom” grossed an estimated $7.6 million from 3,151 theaters. It is the first time Li and Chan have appeared together on the bigscreen.

The R-Rated “Sarah Marshall,” produced by Judd Apatow, slotted second with an estimated $5.9 million at 2,798.

Among Apatow productions, “Marshall’s” opening day bests those posted by recent box office misfires “Drillbit Taylor” ($4.1 million) and “Walk Hard” ($1.5 million), but is lower than his string of R-rated rom com hits “Superbad” ($12.3 million), “Knocked Up” ($9.8 million) and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” ($7.1 million).

“Forbidden Kingdom” marks the eighth wide release in a row that Lionsgate has opened No. 1 or No. 2. Lionsgate is domestic distrib. Film was financed by Relativity Media and TWC’s Asian Film Fund. It was produced by Casey Silver.

Two films could end up in a close race for the weekend crowd. Overall, Friday’s B.O. signaled that the weekend should end up ahead of the same frame last year, welcome news for the film biz.

Last weekend’s No. 1 opener, Sony’s “Prom Night” took third with $3.5 million off 2,700, a 64% decline in its second Friday, bringing its eight-day cume to $26.9 million.
