Miley finally speaks out about Nick
After years of playing coy, Miley Cyrus finally speaks out about her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas.
We became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met,” Cyrus says in the September issue of Seventeen Magazine. “He was on a quest to meet me, and he was like, ‘I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I like you so much.’”
The teen stars, now both 15, never went public with their relationship – Cyrus said they were “just really good buds” – though fans and reporters alike were onto them.
Nick and I loved each other,” Cyrus says now. “We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”
After they broke up at the end of 2007, Cyrus tells Seventeen, “At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black. When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great. And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core. I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, I’ve got to be by myself for now, and just figure out who I really am.”
Cyrus doesn’t rule out getting back together with the Jonas brother one day – though a source told PEOPLE he’s now dating fellow Disney Channel star Selena Gomez, 16.
Maybe he’ll be my best friend for the rest of my life or maybe I’ll end up marrying Nick Jonas!” Cyrus says.
But for now, she’s happily single. “Since [the breakup], I’ve realized that I’ve met so many great guys, but I like being the girl nobody can have,” she says. “No one can touch me, no one’s mine. I’m myself. I think it’s great to do your own thing.”

Christie Brinkley ‘Needs Time To Absorb’ Divorce Testimony
After a day of gripping testimony from her ex-husband and his former teenaged lover, Christie Brinkley says she “heard a lot of new things I didn’t know” in the opening of the couple’s divorce trial Wednesday.
Looking upset as she gave a brief statement at Suffolk County Supreme Court in Central Islip, N.Y., the former supermodel added, “I need some time to let it all absorb.” Brinkley was accompanied by her lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen, who described the trial’s opening as “a really tough day, as well as a long day.”
In court, Brinkley’s lawyers painted Cook, an architect, as a bad father who was fixated on Internet porn and whose affair with a then-18-year-old employee tore his marriage apart.
Cook’s attorney, Norman Sheresky, explained his client’s tears on the witness stand during brutal and at times humiliating questioning from attorneys: “All you’ve got to do is mention Peter’s children … He loves his kids. This is one of the best fathers you’ll ever meet.”
After Cook and his former mistress, Diana Bianchi, who is now 21, testified about intimate details of their affair, Brinkley’s daughter Alexa Ray (whose father is singer Billy Joel) took the stand and told of constant criticism from Cook.
Describing a 2003 incident in which Cook allegedly became enraged that her shower was causing a leak, Alexa Ray testified, “He was pushing me down the stairs … I went down in a towel … and the drips were already coming down into the bucket. He shoved my head into a bucket and said, ‘You clean this up.’”
During cross-examination, Alexa Ray described her mother as “very loving, but very idealistic about things.”
The divorce trial – in which Brinkley, 54, and Cook, 49, are battling over custody of their children Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10 – continues Thursday.

Shania Twain’s Soon-To-Be Ex-Husband Says The Split Is Unfortunate
Robert “Mutt” Lange tells PEOPLE exclusively that his split from Shania Twain is “unfortunate.”
“It’s just an unfortunate thing that’s happened,” Lange told PEOPLE shortly after the couple’s separation was announced Thursday. “It’s literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”
A source close to Twain also tells PEOPLE that the singer didn’t expect the split. “She’s devastated,” another source says. “She’s getting through it with a very close-knit group of family and friends.”
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, married after a six-month courtship in 1993. They have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.

Robin Williams’s Daughter: ‘I Want My Parents To Be Happy’
Her parents may be divorcing, but Robin Williams’s daughter Zelda swears there’s no drama in the family.
“It wasn’t a complete surprise,” the 18-year-old told PEOPLE at the Rémy Martin Spirit Unleashed launch party in Hollywood Thursday night. “It’s never easy to end. [But] there’s no bitterness – we’re all a family.”
Williams’s second wife, Marsha, filed for divorce last month, citing irreconcilable differences. In addition to Zelda, they also have a 16-year-old son, Cody. Williams also has a son, Zachary, 25, from his previous marriage.
“I just want my parents to be happy,” said Zelda, who stars in the upcoming horror flick Don’t Look Up. “And they did last 18 years – a lot longer than most!”(She added that the family knew the divorce was coming for “for months,” and that her parents gave them advance warning before officially filing.)
Family Ties
Although Zelda admits she wasn’t particularly close with her dad growing up, the two have been spending more time together recently.
“He wasn’t around a lot when I was a kid but I have the wonderful opportunity to get to know him now,” she explained. “He’s taking more of a break. He’s not doing four films a year; he’s doing one or two …. Now he has more time for us.”
She also said that her dad is doing well after his alcohol relapse in 2006. “He’s great,” said Zelda. “He’s on the wagon.”
Watching her father’s stuggles with alcoholism has already taught the aspiring actress all about the pitfalls of the Hollywood party scene. “I took a vow of sobriety when my dad relapsed, so I don’t drink,” she said. “And I have great friends.”

Jamie-Lynn Sigler & Boyfriend Scott Sartiano Split
It’s over for Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Scott Sartiano, her boyfriend of two years, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
“They are currently split up as they’re living on different coasts and their lives are taking a different direction,” the source says. “They are still really close and you never know what is going to happen in the future.”
After her marriage with manager AJ DiScala ended in 2006, Sigler, 26, was inseparable from Sartiano, 33, a nightlife impresario in New York who co-owns Butter restaurant and the newly opened lounge 1OAK.
The relationship turned rocky recently, and “she went to New York to work on their problems,” says a friend of Sigler’s. “She was in New York up until a few days ago and that’s when it ended.” Another friend called the breakup “mutual. They have both accepted it and are doing their own thing. They’re still very close and share so much love for each other.”
Sigler stepped out with gal pals on Tuesday night at the Svedka-sponsored launch of philanthropic fashion campaign for Heal the Bay at Fred Segal in Santa Monica – and her attitude about the future was telling. She told PEOPLE of her plans for the summer: “I’m going to Coachella. It’s gonna kick off my summer fun with the girls! It’s all about me right now. And I like that. I’ve never had that in my life.”

Kanye West’s Fiancée ‘Sad’ Over Breakup
Rapper Kanye West and his fiancée of a year and a half, designer Alexis Phifer have broken off their engagement, Phifer confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.”It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer tells PEOPLE. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”
Phifer was spotted on the red carpet sans her engagement ring at an “Evenings in Vogue” event on Thursday night in New York, where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured.
“They’d been having problems,” a pal of West’s says. “Kanye is really focused on his show; he’s putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they’ve split.”
According to the friend, Phifer and West, both 30, had been spending less time together in the last few weeks as the Grammy-winning star prepared for his nationwide “Glow in the Dark” tour. “I haven’t seen [Alexis] around at all the last few times I’ve seen him recently,” the friend added.
The couple, who have dated on and off since 2002, got engaged over a lobster and pasta dinner during a vacation on the island of Capri in August 2006.
A rep for West, currently on tour, had no comment.

Brody Jenner & Girlfriend Break Up
Hills star Brody Jenner didn’t quite seem like the settling kind. From his on-again, off-again romance with Hills costar Lauren Conrad, to his most recent relationship to model Cora Skinner, PEOPLE has confirmed the two have recently split and Jenner is a single man yet again.This past weekend, Jenner showed up with a new woman on his arm (who wasn’t Skinner) at the Wrigley-sponsored NBA Entertainment League Season Wrap party in L.A. Says an eyewitness: “He was holding hands with a cute blonde. They rushed inside but he held her hand on the carpet and when they were waiting to get in. They were cute, she was definitely his date for the day.”
Jenner’s BFF Frankie Delgado wasn’t very shy about sharing his buddies new single status. “He was shouting, ‘Brody’s single,’ ” says a an onlooker.
